Randy Waterman has long been the driving force behind WDA Design Group, overseeing the firm’s operations and contributing key insights to developing numerous planning projects. With over 40 years of diverse experience in analyzing properties, master planning, site design, and environmental permitting, Randy has built a legacy of excellence in residential, retail, commercial, and industrial developments.


Transition to a Consulting Role

As Randy prepares to step down from his leadership role, he will continue to share his expertise with WDA Design Group in a consulting capacity. This transition ensures that his deep knowledge and vision remain accessible, guiding the company’s future while allowing him to focus on strategic contributions.

Randy’s remarkable career includes notable achievements such as:

  • Northborough Crossing
Master planning for this 160± acre retail and lifestyle center, featuring over 600,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space and 350 units of multi-family housing under MGL Chapter 40B.
  • Bay State Commons
Instrumental in the initial planning and permitting for this 55± acre brownfield redevelopment in downtown Westborough, MA, which includes retail space, residential units, and a two-acre public park.
  • Specialized Planning Projects
Providing master planning for multi-site recreational programs, as well as innovative site design strategies for various residential and mixed-use projects across Massachusetts.

From high-end oceanfront estates to large-scale subdivisions, Randy’s work consistently maximizes property value through creative and cost-effective planning. His dedication to quality design has benefited a wide range of clientele and projects.
